Army Wives Season 2

Postby dlrgrl1 on Fri Feb 15, 2008 9:31 pm

figured I would start a new topic for season 2..the following is from Kim Delaney...

"Army Wives," a Lifetime hit last summer, was originally set to return in April, with a second mini-season in June. Now, said Susanne Daniels, president of entertainment at Lifetime, the show will have a run in June, and then a second season beginning in December. "We had planned on a cliffhanger for the spring episodes and we can't really do that now," Ms. Daniels said. "But we think we can do a holiday theme for the other season now."

That is what i have found so that all you that want to know when and if it was coming back. There is the news for you. Thats what it says and if i get anymore news i will post here again. Thanks Again everyone.

Love, Kim Delaney

latest news from Katherine Fugate's website...

With the Writers Guild of America strike over, filming is set to begin next month on the second season of the popular cable television show "Army Wives," which is set and made in Charleston.

Production of the Lifetime Network series was scheduled to begin last November, but the Hollywood labor stand-off dimmed the lights for more than three months.

With an agreement now reached between the writers union and producers, scripts can be written and the cameras can roll.

Filming will begin March 19, said Chandler Hayes, a publicist with ABC Studios in Los Angeles. He could not confirm when the new season will air, though online reports say could be as soon as early summer.

Robbin Knight, president of the Carolina Film Alliance, who is familiar with the production company's schedule, said shooting is expected to last at least six to eight weeks initially.

a new article appeared in charleston newspaper about filming season 2. It was accompianed with some photos of kim delaney and catherine bell..sadly none of Drew as the men have yet to start filming :(

here is the article:

'Army Wives' invade C of C

'Army Wives'
Shot in Charleston, the Lifetime Television program debuted June 3. Now in its second season of production, the show features Kim Delaney, Catherine Bell, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh and Sterling K. Brown as the "wives." Brian McNamara and Drew Fuller also star on the program.
Welcome back, soldier.

"Army Wives" has resumed production, as the show filmed scenes Wednesday on the College of Charleston campus.

Based here, the Lifetime Television program used the Cistern, Addlestone Library and its courtyard as backdrops, college students as extras. Those scenes, said the show, will be aired during the first episode of the second season.

The three-month writers' strike had postponed production on the series, which aired its season finale Aug. 26. But in mid-February, the Writers Guild of America reached an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, enabling filming to begin last week. "Army Wives" also shoots on a soundstage off King Street Extension.

"It's good to be working, for sure," said assistant location manager Robert Basha.

Production trucks and trailers arrived about 4 a.m., lining Coming Street from the corners of George and Calhoun streets. Lights, cords and other equipment littered the Cistern, library and courtyard.

Downtown logistics made coordination difficult, but not impossible.

"It's just a matter of knowing the right people to talk to and getting the right permitting and just keeping everything in line," Basha said. "It's all readily available."

Camera crews also gathered on the second floor of Addlestone Library, surprising a few students.

"I saw these people in bandages walking around," said sophomore Brian McCarn, peering up from his managerial accounting textbook. "I don't know what's going on."

Studying contribution margin and the like held little sway in comparison.

"It's a little more interesting than this," said McCarn, referring to his textbook. "It's just a different experience."

Terry in Chattanooga, Tn.: Thanks for all the Army Wives season-two news, Kristin, but what about all the guys that were deployed in the finale? Are we ever going to see them again?
Absolutely. According to co-EP Marshall Persinger, "We have too many great actors to not use them—they're all so cute. These soldiers are going to come in and out, because that's the way it is. One of our characters, Chase (Jeremy Davidson), who is married to Pamela, is Delta Force, and those guys are in and out. Typically, in the army, you can be deployed for up to 15 months, but Denise's husband, Frank Sherwood (Terry Serpico), he's a major, and he's more available to go in and out. And Roxy's Trevor (Drew Fuller), whom everyone adores—we can't not see Trevor! So yes, we're also gonna see these guys in Iraq. They'll be on the phone, they'll be on iChat, and sometimes we'll actually see them there—we've got a way we can shoot some stuff here [in Charleston, South Carolina] for Iraq."
