Sure I will share the day with you guys. This is the blog I had done on my myspace so I will just copy and paste that LOL
Let me just say that yesterday was the MOST WONDERFUL AWE FILLED DAY I have ever had in my life and it will never be forgotten by me and my kids and I am sure all the other girls there.
We were treated like stars, even the stars treated us like stars and it was all about us for the day. The way we were treated was just so wonderful, and the kids were treated wonderfully as well.
The day started off at 5 am for our household. Got me and the kids all ready and headed out the door to meet the buses at 630am. Stopped and got gas and headed there. Got on the buses and the buses left at about 8 am. Driving down there the kids were full of energy and playing up a storm on the buses. The lifetime camera crew filmed each of us girls for interviews. Made a few stops and then at the last rest stop we were met up with the Patriot Guard Riders whom we found would escort us the rest of the way to the picnice area. That was the most honor I have felt and I actually cried some knowing what they were doing for us with the fact knowing what they do for our Veterans (if you dont know who they are here is a link to fill you in on the most wonderful people
http://www.patriotguard.org/ ).
We then turned into this really really nice Rich housing area and oh my god is all I can say about these homes and the area. Then pulled into one of the club houses where there was everyone LOL. We got off the buses and walked over to the actors whom greeted us and when foundout our names right away knew who we were and all since they had bios on each and everyone of us. The actors really were into us and wanting to know so much more about us and always came up to us to talk and interact with the kids as well (the actors that were there were Catherine Belle, who played on Jag, Kim Delaney who played on NYPD Blues, Brigid Brannagh whom is a fellow Bay Areaian like me LOL and has had roles on CSI, Sally Pressman, Sterling Brown who played on Without a Trace, Boston Legal and more, Drew Fuller who played on Charmed as Chris and Wendy Davis played on Commander in Chief, Cold Case, and more too).
Then the kids went over to play all the hearts desire on stuff to do, they had magic tricks, balloon animals, moon bouncer, arts and crafts, movies, eat popcorn and face painting and all that, We did not have to worry about our kids at all, they had tons of people watching the kids and interacting with them. Us girls proceeded to head inside where we could have pedi's, facials, back massages, makeup done and hair done. We even got gift bags from that area as well. Then in comes the champaigne and then right after that Drew brought us in Margaritas YUMMMMYY so needless to say we felt really good. Drew stayed in the pampering area with us pretty much the whole time to make sure we were all well taken care of, making us laugh till tears came down our faces. The actors stayed with us all day long too and they were just ordinary people. We then also did video letters to our hubbys and then fixed up care packages for them as well that Lifetime will mail out for us. They had icecream for the kids as well.
It was strange at first to have cameras in your face all the time, but after it bit it became second nature and you forgot all about them being there. We received so much from Lifetime that it was so nice. I have never been treated like this in all my life and wish it did not end so fast. The day just went to fast is what I mean. The actors even want us to contact them personally on how we like the show and also if we see something that is not true being protrayed on there.
We ended up getting home about 1015 pm and got the kids right into bed. This day will always be remembered.
The Documentary of this day will be on LifetimeTv.com Memorial weekend and then during the season bits and pieces will be shown as well
