story - part 15 (open for everyone)

Postby Chrissy.W.x on Mon Jun 08, 2009 12:10 pm

Welcome to part 15 of our FanFiction!

To everyone out there who wants to join us writing! Please read this:

As most of you surly know, we (Jen, Belén and me and also some others from time to time) went on writing this FanFiction simply called "story", which had been started first by julia and is open to everyone for writing.
As this project started there had been a lot more writers involvet. And hey, guys we STILL really want you back.
But if you like to write with us, please PM me first... Because this story is already grown that huge, with so much characters, that it's better when we inform you about them before you start to write...(just the "who is who")*wink*
In general we want to say: We know, sometimes it's hard to follow, because... well, a lot of the parts written by us are very long (we have really problems to stop ourselves, but we try our best)... But hey, that doesn't mean that you have to write so much, too. If you like to join us, just do it, we're looking forward for any new sentence... Because we really want to keep that project, 'cause it's one of the funniest things we've ever done.
But from the past parts we knew that there is one rule, which is very important for getting a good story: Read the previous posts carefully, and when you go on writing, make sure that it fits together with those lines which are already written. Because we want to have ONE STORY, not a puzzle of hundreds of different pieces. And if you'll find a mistake (mistakes can always happen) then tell it to the writer as soon as possible, so that it could be changed by her or him.
And another important thing: When you write then remember that this is like a good novel. So please try to describe the scene, fill it with details and not only write that he's doing this and he's saying that... make it a round thing...
NOTE: All this stories are/will be also online on fanfiction.net... So if you want to write here, and don't agree with seeing your nickname on that side (because we mentioned every author there of course), too... then please PM us! THANKS!

Another thing: When you want to write a part, then post a short message like "I'll go on" before writing it and then edit that post with your "update" as fast as you can write it (don't leave that message just because you plan to write something the next day... wait with doing that till the time you really want to write). Because this is the sign for the others that someone is working on that. Otherwise it could happen that we have two parts which do not fit together, and that's something no one wants. (If there should ever be two persons posting that message nearly at the same time, the first one wins!)

We're about to uploade the completed (overworked and corrected) stories to fanfiction.net. You can find them here:
http://www.fanfiction.net/~crazydffgang

And now enjoy part 15!

And so that you don't get confused... I did make a room-plan of the manor as it is described in Story 12. I don't know if the plan of the first floor is against anything shown in the show, but actually I don't care, because it fits to our story and that's what matters... *grinning*

Yes, Jen... You see right... I thought I just forget about reaper today and give this next part a head-start... *lol* Hope you like my little idea...

Part 15

It had been two month. Two month since Chris had been in the future while Christopher was in the past, two month since Steve accepted who he was, two month since Elenia was arrested up there.
In that time, after his stay in the underworld, Steve tried to get his life back to normal. The first three weeks he had spend with his friends, trying to recover as much of his memory as he could. It wasn't easy, even frustrating sometimes. But now he remembered most of his past, luckily. After that he and Nicki had spend 4 weeks of vacation on Hawaii, just relaxing. Well except those few days they had spend in the underworld, after Neadin and Shushuba were born, Steve's two adorable nieces. Even Nicki had enjoyed it to meet Batim again, and also to finally to get to know his wife Fegal and of course the two kids. And also Fegal seemed to like her new borther-in-law and his fiancée. And after the birth, which was a little too early but not unusual for twins, she was glad to have some help in the first days.
But now Steve was back and today he would start teaching again. His first class since more than 2 month, and man he was nervous. he had heard that most of the kids were eager that he would come back, but... still he wasn't sure how they would react. But he still had about an hour left before his class would start so he wanted to talk to Paige who had substituted him during his absence.
He just went through the door to the manor, calling for her without getting an answer, when the front door was opened. First he only saw a huge box, then, that box was placed to the ground and Kyle appeared behind it. The man closed the door, and picked the box up again.
"Need any help?" Steve asked from the stairs.
Kyle froze, then he looked up and smiled: "No thanks... I'm fine... This isn't heavy..." He went upstairs to the first landing and then balanced the box on the banister to be able to look at the newcomer. "It's good to see you are back," he said.
"Thanks," Steve replied. Then he asked: "Do you know where I can find your girlfriend? I need to ask her something about my class..."
Kyle grinned and picked the box up again. "She's in her room, making space for this stuff here... Just follow me."
Steve nodded smiling. "So you are finally moving in here?"
"Yes... Slowly... One box by one... It's still about a month until Victor's partial retirement will start, so I have time... And with all the work, I'm glad I don't have to hurry..."
Steve nodded as they went down the hallway of the first floor: "So true..."

Short, but... I hope yopu like it...

"Chris????" Bianca called. She just had shimmered into the living room of the manor, with Hope on her arms. the little girl was crying in a heartbreaking way. "Chris where are you???" she called again. He had promised her he'd be here when she returned. Frowning she went around and finally reached the sun room. When she looked outside she could hardly believe her eyes. Shaking her head she went outside into the garden.
Chris immediately looked up when the cry of his daughter reached his ears. He was kneeling in the dirt on the ground, Wyatt by his side. But when he saw his wife walking over to him, he jumped up and cleaned his dirty hands on his jeans.
"Is everything alright?" he asked worried.
Bianca smiled at him halfheartedly, then nodded, while the little girl continued crying. "The doctor said she's fine. She's just a bit upset right now. Seems she doesn't like to be pricked." And turning to her daughter she added: "But little Hope needs the immunization..."
"Shall I take care of her for a while?" Chris offered, feeling horrible inside. He couldn't stand it when his daughter was crying.
Bianca looked at him from head to toe. He was all over covered in dirt. She smiled at him and shook her head: "No my boy... you are too dirty. What are you doing here anyway?"
Chris grinned at this question. Then he gestured to Wyatt and explained: "Wyatt and I are gardening. We just planted some salad and some carrots and..." he gestured to a box with small plants standing by the side: "Next are strawberries..."
"You did?" Bianca asked surprised. She never knew Chris was interested in gardening.
"Yeah... I always wanted to do something like that and... Wyatt liked the idea, too..."
Bianca shook his head smiling: "You are incredible... Did you also plant some herbs for Piper's kitchen?"
Chris looked at her, his face a funny expression. "Sure..."
Wyatt meanwhile had waled over to them and showed Bianca a pack of seed. "Planted sunflowers, too," he said proudly. Then looking at his niece he asked: "Why's she cryin'?"
"She just got an injection from the doctor," Chris explained, ruffling the boy's hair which was as dirty already as the rest of him.
Wyatt cringed at this: "I hate those, too."
Both adults smiled at this. Then Bianca turned to Chris again: "I'll take her home to get her into bed. Maybe she's in a better mood after a good nap."
Chris nodded: "Shall I come with..."
"No!" she interrupted him smiling. "You finish this mess here and then you both have a shower... and you better hurry before Piper is home."
"Yes Ma'am," Chris saluted. Then he grabbed another box of young strawberry flowers and said to his brother: "Come on buddy, let's finish this."
Bianca watched them both for a moment, amazed about the way both brother's worked together. It was a cute sight, how Wyatt set the flowers into the little holes Chris had made. But Hope was still crying so finally she shimmered away.
Chris, as soon as he had noticed this, took his brother by the hand. "I guess we quickly need to make a stop at the market again, ok?"
"Why?" his brother asked.
"Well... I guess we need to plant some parsley and basil, too...for mom..." And so they both, dirty as they were, orbed away.

- Henry Mitchell was out looking for a parolee this morning who hadn't checked in. He'd been all around town, looking in the usual places, talking to the usual suspects. But so far he'd come up dry. It was unlike Jeffrey not to call in. After he'd been released, he'd promised to clean up his act, and so far, after five months, he'd kept his word. He'd gotten cleaned up, had a steady job, and he even had a girlfriend. And Henry had been there helping him out every step of the way. So his disappearance this morning had been baffling.
- Henry had parked at the side of a building to think. He had Jeffrey's case file with him, and he looked it over, searching for anything he may have missed. Any contact from his old life, any hangout. Suddenly he heard a gun shot nearby, and he turned to look. Two teens were in the middle of an argument when one had pulled a gun on the other. Henry threw open his door, and pulling his own gun, called to the teens.
- "Police! Drop your weapon!" he yelled to them, using his car door as a shield. Both teens turned to him, shock on their faces, than bolted. After calling for backup, he quickly gave chase, following them into a nearby alley.
- Having had a head start, the two teens split up and quickly lost Henry in the seeming maze of dark alleys. After a few minutes, Henry slowed to a fast, but cautious, walk. He couldn't hear the teens running anymore, and wondered if they were just hunkering down behind a dumpster, or if they had really gotten away.
- The sound of a trash can being knocked over caught his attention, and he slowed his pace even further. Taking a side alley off to the left, it wasn't long before he found the overturned can. He stopped for a minute and listened, as he scanned the surrounding area. Despite it being midmorning, the alley was shrouded in darkness. The tall surrounding buildings and overhangs would all but block out the sunlight even at high noon. The darkness made Henry nervous.
- Suddenly, he heard a scream coming from the end of the alley. As he turned in that direction, a strange flash of light caught his eyes, and he raced forward. Rounding the corner at the end, gun drawn, he came upon a strange scene. There was a lone man, lying dead on the ground, no suspect anywhere to be seen. The alley was a dead end, with the only way out, the way he came in. And he hadn't seen anyone run past him. Unless they were invisible, he thought, then scoffed at the idea. So unless this man had killed himself, he had no idea how his attacker had gotten away.
- Henry moved closer, all senses on alert. The alley was dark, but enough light made it down for him to see. The sound of approaching police cruisers reached his ears as he reached the body. Looking at the body sent shivers and shock through him. There was an enormous burn mark in the middle of the man's chest, but what really shocked him was the identity of the man. It was his missing parolee, Jeffrey.

"You can't do that!" Leo tried again and again to reason with his fellow Elder. "You can't give her a charge!" They were walking side by side through a long hallway.
"I can and I will," Odin replied. "And even if I would agree with you - which I don't - I wouldn't be able to change that anyway. This is a slightly urgent matter, and we have no free whitelighters left!"
"But she's a charmed one!" Leo tried again. "She is busy enough with vanquishing demons and keeping the demons at bay... her sisters need her."
Meanwhile the other Elders around turned their heads, listening to their conversation, wondering what was going on.
Jeremiah, who was just watering one of the plants, turned to Andrew who was helping him. "Do you know what they are arguing about?"
Andrew just shrugged: "No idea..."
Odin meanwhile sighed, walking a little faster now as if he wanted to escape his friend: "She's a whitelighter, too. She needs a charge, sooner or later. It's for her own good."
"Maybe, but does it have to be now?" Leo's voice was getting desperate now. "You know that her boyfriend just moved in with us...???"

"I know that," Odin replied, "but that doesn't change anything..." Meanwhile they reached the small round room where they kept the lists of whitelighters abd their charges. "I already agreed to not give charges to Christopher and Wyatt but I can't make more exceptions."
"But can't you at least give her some more time... at least a week or so? So that I can mentally prepare her..."
"No!" Odin replied strictly. Then he added with a softer voice: "I'm sorry... This is an urgent matter."
"Yeah sure..." Leo replied, while his friend took out one of the files to add Paige's name. He knew Odin had no other choice, but that didn't mean he had to like it.

Odin meanwhile concentrated on Paige and sent an jingle down to her...

Piper sighed while she watched her younger sister. Phoebe had gotten a bonus from Elise: a gift certificate from a store for baby clothes. She just had to write a small article about that store in return. Elise had thought this would be a nice thing to do since she knew about Phoebe's nephews and niece, but for Piper this was torture. And she actually envied Bianca who had that appointment at the doctor today and not had to suffer this chaotic mess here. So right now Phoebe was picking out outfit after outfit while little Christopher became even more and more cranky.
"Are you done yet?" the oldest of the Charmed Ones asked, when Phoebe held another little pair of jeans in front of her son, to see if the size would fit.
"Almost... almost..." Phoebe mumbled as she went off again to search through the shelves.
Piper rolled her eyes unnerved as she cradled Christopher in her arms and tried to sooth him. "Shhh... it's alright baby... Your Auntie is just a little overly crazy today... "
Meanwhile a shop assistant went over to the two women with a smile on her face. She went straight to Piper's side and said: "Oh what a cute little boy you have, congratulations."
"Thanks you," Piper smiled back, "but right now I guess he is sleepy..." She rocked the boy in her arm a little in the hope to make him settle down again. But Christopher had non of that. Instead of being a sweet little boy he now started to cry. Piper sighed ant then called for her sister: "Piper, would you please hurry, I need to get Christopher home for his nap..."
"I'm coming I'm coming," the empath called from the other end of the store. When she reached her sister and nephew she help a cute little shirt with a teddy on it, and matching pants in her hands... and again held them in front of the boy.
"PHOEBE!" Piper exclaimed now really angry.
"Ok, ok..." Phoebe sighed, "then she grabbed all the stuff which she wanted to buy and handed it to the shop assistant.
"You wanna buy all of this?" the woman asked surprised. It must have been about 3 pants, 8 shirts and 6 combinations.
Phoebe nodded smiling, and handed her the gift certificate: "Sure I will. I love spoiling my little nephew."
Piper rolled her eyes: "Ok Super Auntie... I go to the car... please hurry!" And with this she left the store while Phoebe went to the counter to pay...

The school bell rang softly indicating that the lesson was over... And a milli-second later all kids jumped up.
"Wait, wait! not so fast guys!" Cole said with a loud voice, making everyone of the 9th grade sit down again.
"But..." Melissa complained, "we have to hurry to the next class..."
"I know that... blame it on my if you are late... but there are two more things I need to discuss."
"Well if you excuse us, you can continue talking all day with us, Mr. Halliwell," Tony said from his place in the back, making the rest of the class laugh.
Cole just shook his head. "You won't miss much of your science class..." he replied, making his student roll his eyes. Then he sat down on the edge of his desk and said: "First thing. Homework..." The class groaned and this. Cole had to smile then explained: "I want you to write a short assay. Not much blah-blah... I just want the names of 3 herbs of your choice, with a drawing and where you find it AND with their use in healing. Ok?"
Some of the teens sighed, others groaned again or shook their heads, but all nodded.
"And what's the second thing?" a girl from the first row, named Ashley, asked.
But before their teacher could answer Tony talked: "Surely he will announce an exam for tomorrow as well..."
Cole had to laugh at this, saying: "This might actually be an idea." And when he saw all the heads turn to the young man and glare at him he added. "But don't worry... I won't let you write an exam within the next weeks..." A collective, relieved sigh was heard. then Cole explained: "No... I wanted to talk to you about your "advanced spell casting"-class. You all know that Mr. Moody will be back today, and I wanted to ask you to be nice to him."
"Of course we will!" Melissa said.
And Drew added: "We are all happy to have him back, Mr. Halliwell."
Cole nodded but asked anyway. "So there is nothing planed? No prank or trick?"
"No, absolutely nothing," Tony replied. And from the look in his eyes Cole knew he meant what he said. And since Tony was usually the one who was responsible for all the mischief, he couldn't help but feel relieve. So he nodded and said: "Ok... that's what I wanted to hear... So... have a nice day class and enjoy your next lesson."
And with this all the students jumped up, grabbed their stuff and headed out of the door.

Ok as you can see... I didn't write the part where Paige gets her charge... Mostly because I didn't know what to write about Steve and her... Through I had the idea that she might not know that she is jingled, and just feels like having a headache at first (as far as I know we never let the Elders jingle her before and if she wasn't jingled in the show..)... but I really don't know what they could talk about, steve and her and Kyle for that matter... so I didn't write it...
Oh and I know you love action... that's why I gladly leave those parts for you all the time...

Oh and I know you love action... that's why I gladly leave those parts for you all the time...

Well, I did it for you... I just hope you like what I did...

Well, I hope you like mine... Did I ever mention I love writing??? lol 'Cause I think I went a little crazy again...

Chrissy.W.x wrote:"You can't do that!" Leo tried again and again to reason with his fellow Elder. "You can't give her a charge!"n They were walking side by side through a long hallway.
"Maybe but does it have to be now?" Leo's voice was getting desperate now. "You know that her boyfriend just moved ion with us...???"
"I know that," Odin replied, "but that doesn't change anything..." Mean while they reached the big round room where they used to connect the whitelighters with their charges. "I already agreed to not give charges to Christopher and Wyatt but I can't make more exceptions."
"But can't you at least give her some more time... at least a week or so? So that I can mentally prepare her..."
"No!" Odin replied strictly. Then he added with a softer voice: "I'm sorry..."
"Yeah sure..." Leo replied.

- The Spring session in the senate was warming up, and lots of hot topics were up for debate. And today was one of those days when the press was filled in. And so, City Hall was crawling with reporters, all eager to hear what new senator Egan had to say.
- Senator Egan was in his office, preparing his notes for his speech, when his aid entered. The man was young, in his twenties, with flaming red hair and bright green eyes. And the Senator trusted him with his life. Though he was pretty sure his life would be safe in the windowless conference room where he was to give his speech in just a few moments. Plus, City Hall had its own security to keep out the crazies. And there would be lots of those today. A controversial new bill had been passed, and many people didn't like it. That was the main focus of the press conference, along with other concerns of the people, like tax hikes, and job losses.
- "Senator, they will be ready for you shortly," the aid said, as he placed a folder on the senator's desk.
- "Thank you, Sean. Tell them I'll be there in five minutes," he instructed the young man.
- "Yes Sir," Sean said, then turned and left the office. Egan picked up the folder Sean had left and quickly flipped through it. Most of it was things he already knew, but he didn't have time to read the rest. So he got up and walked to his filling cabinet, unlocked one of the drawers and placed the folder inside. Once it was safely locked away, Senator Egan straightened his tie, and headed for the conference hall.

- Paige had been trying to convince Steve that he would be fine. That his class was excited to have him back. But his nerves were strangely getting the better of him all of a sudden. With everything that had happened to him in the last months, it was surprising that a bunch of teenagers could scare him so much. But Paige insisted they would be on their best behavior. That and she admitted to threatening to turn them into to toads if they weren't.
- "So trust me, you'll be fine. I made a crazy amount of notes so you'll know where everyone's at," she was saying from her position on her hands and knees in her closet, trying to make room for Kyle's shoes by moving hers around.
- "I know, I looked at your notes last night. I really don't know why I'm so nervous," Steve said from his position on Paige's bed.
- "Well don't be. I hear teaching is like riding a bike," Kyle said as he placed a final box for today on the floor next to Paige's vanity.
- "Exactly! You never forget how," Paige said, pulling out of the closet and almost banging her head on one of the doors.
- "I know. It's just... I've changed so much since then," the Elder-Ashon said, letting out a big sigh.
- "But only for the better," Paige said, as she got up. Suddenly, she heard a strange jingling sound and put her hand to her ear, rubbing it.
- "Are you alright?" Kyle asked when he saw her doing this. An odd look came over her face as she realized what was happening.
- "I think I'm being jingled," she said as she lowered her hand. Steve and Kyle exchanged a look.
- "The Elders?" Steve asked, perplexed.
- "They're calling you?" Kyle asked, just as confused. Paige shook her head, not sure what the Elders could possibly want that they would jingle her. Leo was the one who usually got jingled.
- "What do they want?" Steve asked, before she could answer anyone's questions.
- "I don't know," she said, then, when the jingling became louder, yelled at the ceiling, "alright! I'm coming, dammit!" then back at Steve and Kyle, "sorry guys, I have to go. And Steve, you'll be fine." She walked over to Kyle and embraced him, orbing away mid-kiss.
- She reappeared where she'd been told, on top of the Golden Gate Bridge. Odin was there, waiting for her, an unnerving look on his face. A fear crept into her stomach then, her mind going where it shouldn't. Leo had gone to speak to the Elders this morning, what if he never made it. What if something happened to him, and that's why I was summoned? She looked at Odin, that fear growing in her.
- "Tell me Leo is alright," she blurted, unable to hold it in any longer. Odin was taken aback by her sudden proclamation.
- "Leo? He's fine. I was just talking to him," the Elder said, bemused. Paige let out a sigh of relief, glad her brother-in-law was fine. Then her confusion came back.
- "Then what's this all about? Why was I jingled?" she asked, crossing her arms across her chest.
- "We are giving you your first charge," Odin said straightforwardly. Paige dropped her arms.
- "A charge? But I don't have time..." she started but Odin cut her off.
- "That's what Leo said. But we, the other Elders and I, believe you are ready," he said in that annoyingly calm way of the Elders.
- "But..." she tried protesting again.
- "No buts. The charge is yours, whether you accept him or not. He needs you," Odin said, not messing around. Paige glared at him for a minute, mulling it over in her head. Then she sighed.
- "Fine. Who is he? A witch?" she asked, knowing she was getting in over her head. I must be crazy.
- "No, a parole officer... And a future Whitelighter."
- "A parole officer?" Paige said, looking skeptical.
- "Yes, and his name is Henry Mitchell. You can find him at the same precinct that Kyle works at," Odin stated as Paige shook her head and turned away from him.
- "You have got to be kidding me! My new charge works with my boyfriend? Odin?" She turned back to where Odin had been standing to find no one there. He had orbed away when she'd turned to look over the city. "Perfect! Just perfect," she grumbled just before she orbed back home.

- Across town,
Taylor was just getting home after a long night on the graveyard shift. He'd been working security down at the docks for the past year, taking the night shift one week out of every month. Though he hated the graveyard, since it was just so spooky down at the docks at night, he was glad for the extra quiet time it afforded him. He wasn't the best with people, and his past record proved that. He'd been given six months probation for assaulting a coworker. That had been why he'd started his job as security for the docks. They thought if he was going to hit someone, it might as well be someone who deserved it. Like someone trying to break into the warehouses and containers at the docks. That had been a year ago. He'd been free and clear for six months now, and he was getting his life back together. He regularly went to anger management classes, and he had even taken up yoga as a way to relax. And if it hadn't been for his parole office, Henry Mitchell, who had never given up on him, he would have ended up in jail for sure by now.
- So it was, exhausted from a long night's work, that
Taylor went to bed almost immediately once his door was locked behind him. He fell asleep quickly, and soon he was dreaming.
- It was sunset on a tropical beach, the waves splashing up against the shore.
Taylor was stretched out on a hammock, enjoying a c*cktail, as a few bikini clad women played in the water. He got up to refill his glass, and as dreams go, he soon found himself walking through a crowded club, his drink, refilled, still in hand. The three women, now dressed in crop tops and minis, dancing in the middle of the floor. One of the women beckoned to him as she turned towards the exit. He followed her, feeling drawn in. His drink now gone, he pushed his way through the ever growing crowd, as they pushed in on him. His claustrophobia started to squeeze his heart, making him light headed. Breathing became difficult as the crowd pushed in even more, and he could barely see any of the women. They were now all waiting for him by the exit and fresh air. Lots of fresh air.
- Panic started to take over, and his heart was pounding irregularly in his chest. He felt like it was going to explode. It didn't help that his lungs were on fire from lack of oxygen. And then he reached the end of the crowd and the women were standing there waiting for him. One opened the exit door, and he followed her through, glad for the chance to take in fresh air. But there was no fresh air on the other side of the door. It smelled of rotting flesh and human waste and made bile rise in his throat. His hand flew to his mouth, trying to stifle a gag reflex. The woman he'd followed out, came to a stop underneath a street lamp in the back alley, the light throwing unsettling shadows across her face. Her two friends came up on either side of him, their faces strangely distorted. He found himself wondering why the smell didn't seem to be bothering them, at least until their faces became clear. All three were horribly disfigured, and turned out to be the source of the smell. In places he could see the rotting flesh pealing from their bones. He tried to scream, but they were on him in an instant, tearing at his flesh. His lungs continued to burn, this time from the stench, as the three things ripped him apart.
- The fear consuming him was complete, as he struggled to wake up. Suddenly he was released from the unrelenting grip of unconsciousness. He bolted upright in his bed, his eyes wide in horror. As they focused in the dim light his shaded windows were giving, a figure came into view, standing next to his bed. The look of this being made him think he was still dreaming. At least until it lunged forward, driving a steel blade into his chest.

Steve had talked a little more, after Paige had orbed away. They both were speculating what this jingle might be about, through none hit the point. But then it was time for the Elder-Ashon to leave. He wanted to have a moment to collect himself before he went to his class.
So now Steve was walking down the long hallway of magic school. It was quiet, absolutely quiet, since it wasn't a break or lunch period. So all the students were in the classrooms. Steve was glad for that. He wasn't sure if he could handle the mass of students right now, at least not all at once. At the moment he just wanted to go to his and Nicki's office, sit down at his desk and drink a cup of coffee, which his girl had surely prepared by now...
'Nicki,' he thought smiling. He hadn't seen her since breakfast... but what a breakfast that was. Nicki had even given him a small School Cone. He sighed as he kept thinking about her. Even before their trip to Hawaii they had moved back into his apartment. No, that was wrong, it was their apartment. They had gone through so much together... there was no 'I' anymore, only a 'we'. There was nothing in this world, that could ever separate them. Nothing!
At this thought Steve stopped midway. "That's it!" he muttered smiling. He would ask Nicki again if she would marry him. He'd propose again and then they would marry... soon.
Smiling he continued walking down the hallway, his thoughts now pulled away from his worries about his class, drawn to more brighter thoughts. He even started to hum a melody.
That was until his office door came into view. And what he saw made Steve stop. The whole door seemed to be yellow as if someone had glued something there.
From the distance it was hard to see what it was exactly. So with a slightly troubled feeling in his guts he went closer. He wondered what the * this was until he finally could make out small square-shaped yellow papers... "Post It" notes!!! 'What the *?' Steve thought.
Then he stood in front of his door and smiled, when he read those notes. They were written by his students. Some just said: "Welcome back Mr. Moody." Some were saying: "We missed you." And one also read: "MR. MOODY: BEST TEACHER OF THE SCHOOL!" And on another one he found a message that let him chuckle: "Please no exam in the first week." Some had little drawing of flowers or smileys on it. On other you could just read *HUGS*... And the whole door was full of them. It must have been more than 100 of those notes.
Steve shook his head, muttering: "Amazing..." Then he unlocked the door, opened it and began to move those notes from the outside to the inside of the door, too make sure that non of those notes would get lost. Each of them he read again before posting them against the wood again. And which each one of those notes, he felt more at ease.
When the last note was placed he closed the door again, from the inside this time. Then he lend against his desk and looked at the door with the notes again, thinking: "Maybe coming back to teach again isn't that difficult at all."

I know this is short, but... (see PM)

"I'm really impressed with this place, you know?"
Julian smiled at this. His grandmother had said this for the tenth time already. They both were at the "Silver Spoon" for lunch. Martha Marsh hadn't been there since she had given this place to her grandson. She had been a bit worried at first, when she had heard Julian wanted to hire a manager since he himself lived mostly in the underworld now. So she wanted to see herself if the work of her life was still honored in the restaurant. So Julian had invited her for lunch.
Now dressed in a classical dress which had a colorful flower print on it, the elderly woman, who's grey curled hair stood out against her almost black skin, was submerged in the card, which the waiter had given them moments ago.
Julian was glad through, that Chris and Piper hadn't changed much of the place, not even the service guys, through he had given them permission to do what they wanted. But it was still Rick, an old friend of his granny, who welcomed them when they entered and guided Julian and Martha to his Granny's usual place in the back of the room, so that she could have a good view on everything that was going on. That definitely had made the woman smile.
And also the little chat Martha had had with Rick, was a nice one, since he spoke in the highest terms of the new heads of this place, saying that they are friendly to everyone and always have an open ear for any request. And he also told them with respect in his voice that they even work themselves from time to time as chef and waiter respectively .
Still Julian was a little worried, when he saw his grandmother now frown. "What?" he asked.
"They changed the menu quite a bit..." Martha replied in a voice that let you unsure if she meant it positive or negative.
"Well, Piper is a chef... So of course she wanted to add a bit of her own style," Julian defend her, even if there was no reason to. "Maybe you should try something of that."
When a few minutes later the waiter returned, Martha followed her grandson's advice and tried the first new meal she had found on the menu card: fried lobster with chinese vegetables. Julian meanwhile went for a lasagna.
When the waiter had left them alone again and whispered: "And she really is a Charmed One?"
Julian had to grin at this. "Yes she is," he confirmed. "I actually asked her son Chris to take care of the business but he decided to share the job with her since she always wanted to run a restaurant."
"But her oldest is 3, I've heared...???"
Again Julian had to smile: "Well I mean the other one that came from the future, he's 23."
Now Martha frowned: "From the future? Well... what is he doing here?"
Her grandson sighed at this: "This is a very long story... and not my place to tell. But I'm sure there will be a chance for you to meet them both some day. Then you can ask them yourself."
"You are right..." Martha replied.
Soon the meal was served and they both eat it with delight. And ever other bite she took, Martha praised the cooking skills of Piper for coming up with such a delicious recipe.
"So how is your friend?" She then asked, making him choke on his lasagna. "What was his name? B., right?" she asked smiling and then continued talking before he even had a chance to reply. Not that he had known what to say at this. "You talked so much about him at Christmas. You seem really fond of him. You know, you don't have to lie to me, sweetie. When I can deal with you being turned into what you are then I can also live with you being g..."
Julian rose his hands to stop her: "Wait, grandma... You seriously got that wrong. B. and me are really ONLY just friends. Nothing more." He shook his head about this situation, and then added to make this clear: "And I'm NOT *, ok?"
"Oh I'm sorry sweetie," Martha replied apologetically. "But from the way you talked about him I really thought... Well, never mind."
Julian just rolled his eyes and took another fork-full of his lasagna.
Martha meanwhile continued: "What kind of demon was he? Now that I think about it I'm not even sure you mentioned it."
Julian swallowed his food before asking back: "Why is that so important to you?"
The elderly woman smiled at the younger man: "because you are my grandchild, sweetie. And other than the rest of our damned family, I DO care about you and your life. So what is he? He isn't one of those disgusting looking creatures, is he...???"
Julian rolled his eyes, then answered: "Not exactly..."
"Oh come on," Martha said getting impatient. "What is he?"
"Hesthesourceofallevil," Julian muttered.
Martha frowned, not sure if she understood right. This couldn't be, could it? "What have you just said?"
Julian sighed again: "I said, he is the Source of all Evil! Happy now?"
the elderly woman looked at the man for a moment, her face blank. Then she asked: "Really? And he really is the nice guy you described to me on Christmas?" And when he nodded, a smile crossed her face. "I wanna meet him!"
"WHAT?!?!?!" Julian exclaimed surprised. He had expected everything but definitely not THAT.
"I said I wanna meet him."
"You can't just meet him... he lives in the underworld," Julian tried to reason. But with his granny reasoning never worked.
"So do you," she simply replied, "and I wanted to visit your home anyway. The best.." Martha got more and more excited with every word she said. "Yeah the best would be you take me there right when we finished this lovely dinner... Oh that will be wonderful."
Julian meanwhile just kept staring at her as she continued eating, thinking: 'B. will kill me...'

With a sigh Kyle closed the wardrobe after putting the last of his shirts onto a hanger. He had been packing and unpacking boxes all the morning and he was by far not done yet. But for today this was enough. He knew Paige had the rest of the day for free as well and they both had planed to spend it together. he now just hoped that, whatever the Elders needed her for, wouldn't take too long.
Smiling he sat down on the bed. "Home," he whispered as he looked around. he never had thought about it like this before, but now it finally sank into his mind that those walls where now really his home.
He smiled as he let himself fall back on the bed, just to jerk up again the next second, swearing slightly. Something had pricked him in the back. "* it," he swore as he groped fro whatever it was. Then, when he found it, he had to laugh. It was a huge yellow piece from the Lego Duplo which he had given to Wyatt a couple of days ago.
When the little boy had heard that Kyle would move in permanently he had came over to him one afternoon and had looked at him from head to toe, frowning, with his short arms crossed over his chest. Then he had stated with a smile: "I like you, so I agree you movin' in." Everyone who had witnessed that had started to laugh at this. And Kyle had thought this was so cute... So when he came the next day he gave Wyatt a box with duplo-pieces and thanked him for welcoming him. Piper of course was not so happy, telling him off because he spoiled her son to much. But then she smiled and thanked him as well.
And now one of those pieces was lying in his bed, and he wondered how it got there... So smiling he took the piece and went down the stairs to search for Wyatt to ask him if he has lost it, through he was sure he did.
He found Wyatt and his big brother still in the garden, busy with cleaning up the area after they finished the planting.
"Hey there," Kyle greeted as he stepped out side. Wyatt waved at him happily, while Chris looked a little frustrated. And Kyle soon knew why since he saw how Chris moved things around to put them away, and Wyatt always moved the stuff back to another place. Through he only wanted to help, he caused more work with this.
Kyle smiled, shaking his head. Then he called: "Hey Wyatt... could it be that you forgot something when you was in our room earlier?" He smiled then: 'Our room, sounds nice...'
Wyatt looked up ad frowned. But then he saw the yellow Lego piece in the man#s hand and smiled. "Mine!" he exclaimed. H walked over to Kyle and asked: "Wanna play with me?"
Kyle smiled and ruffled through the boys hair. "I guess we put you in the bath tube first... and then we can play, ok?" Wyatt grimaced at this.
But Chris smiled at him from the distance: "Hey you would really do me a favor if you could handle that."
"Sure no problem," he replied and then took Wyatt's hand.
"But don't show mommy without me!" the cute boy exclaimed.
"I won't... promise!" Chris replied. Wyatt nodded at this and then went with Kyle inside.
Chris followed them with his eyes smiling. It had been really great to plant all this stuff with his brother. But cleaning up was not really something what Wyatt was good at... yet. Therefore he was kind of relieved to have the boy out of the way so that he could quickly put all the stuff away and then shower himself, before he would look after his daughter and wife.

I know.... In my PM i mentioned a scene with Phoebe and Cole and a surprise. But then In figured this might push things too quickly so I decided to keep that idea for part 17 or so... *wink*

- Darryl walked around the crime scene, getting a serious case of deja vu. The victim, Taylor Branson, 25, had been found dead about thirty minutes ago. The neighbors had called, saying they heard strange noises coming from his place. When the police got there, they'd had to bust the door in, and found Taylor lying dead on his bed, a knife wound in his chest. There had been no sign of forced entry, the door locked and chained, the windows shut tight. The lividity and blood pool suggested he hadn't been moved. And there was no weapon anywhere that would point to suicide. And strangest of all, the victim's once black hair, was now completely white.
- Two old cases came into Darryl's mind as he talked to the first officers on scene. And both were from almost eight years ago when he'd been partnered with Andy Trudeau. The first case was a young waitress who'd been found dead in her locked apartment, her bones and internal organs crushed as if she'd jumped from a twenty-story building. The second case, involving another female victim, who had been found in her store, half buried in debris, hair having turned shock white, and later determined to have died from a heart attack. The first case was solved when Andy figured out the killer was Whitaker Berman, a scientist who was studying dream leaping. In the second case, Darryl later found out, the woman's heart attack was caused by Barbas, the demon of fear. But both Whitaker and Barbas were gone, and neither had used a knife to kill. But the similarities to this case where undeniable. And beside, Darryl had been around too many strange, supernatural cases not to recognize one when he saw one.
- So after making the rounds one more time, Darryl decided that he'd have to go see the sisters and warn them about the new demon. And hopefully, they'd be able to stop him before anyone else got killed.

- After his morning class,
Cole headed to the archives downtown to do research for a case. And now he was getting hungry. He looked up at the clock, and decided he'd call Phoebe and ask her to lunch. So he picked up his cell phone, and dialed her number. She answered on the second ring.
- "Hello?" he heard her say over the sound of a car honking.
- "Hi Sweetheart, are you free?" he asked, while leaning back in his chair.
- "Hi Babe! Yeah, I'm free, why?" she said enthusiastically after hearing his voice. Then in the background, "Hey! Watch where you're going jerk!" Cole straightened up when he heard Piper in the background.
- "What's going on?" he asked Phoebe, a little worried.
- "Oh, some jerk just cut us off. No biggy. How's work?" she said, brushing off the incident.
- "Boring. Lots of paperwork. So, how would you like to join me at the Silver Spoon for lunch?" he asked, leaning back in his chair again.
- "Sounds perfect!" she said, brightening up even more. Piper spoke up in the background again.
-"What sounds perfect?" she said sounding annoying.
- "Lunch with my husband," Phoebe answered her sister. Cole heard Piper sigh heavily.
- "Phoebe, I have to get Christopher home for his nap!" the eldest Halliwell said, getting angry.
- "Just dropped me off at the restaurant and you can go," the middle sister said, trying to calm her big sister down.
- "Phoebe!" she grumbled, irritated.
- "Phoebe, is everything alright?" Cole asked, cutting into the sisters' conversation.
- "Piper looks like she wants to blow something up," she said with a hint of amusement in her voice.
- "Yeah, you," he heard the eldest reply.
- "Phoebe?" Cole asked his wife.
- "Piper is cranky because Christopher is cranky, and because I dragged them all over town this morning," she said, and he could imagine the looks Piper was giving her sister.
- "Weren't you supposed to go clothes shopping for Christopher this morning?" he inquired, shifting his weight forward again.
- "Yeah, but after we left, we passed a shoe shop that had a sale sign out front, and I made Piper stop," she said, a slight embarrassed tone coming through over the phone. Cole shook his head at that.
- "It wasn't just a shoe shop. There was a clothing store, a jewelry store, a..." Piper started, getting cut off my Phoebe.
- "Okay, I apologized already! But you got something, too! Don't deny it! And we did stop at the Build-A-Bear place and bought something for each of the kids," Phoebe said defensively, while Cole continued to listen in.
- "That's not the point, Phoebe! We still have to get Christopher home for his nap, like we did an hour ago!" she said sounding frustrated.
- "What are you worrying about? Christopher is sound asleep in his car seat," she replied.
- "Phoebe? Lunch?" Cole said then, breaking into the girls' conversation again.
- "Oh! Sorry Cole. Yeah sure. Where do you want to meet again?" she asked, turning her attention back to her husband.
- "The Silver Spoon," he answered, suppressing a laugh.
- "Oh, perfect! That's on our way," Phoebe said, brightening up again.
- "What is?" Piper asked, sounding skeptical.
- "The Silver Spoon. Can you drop me off, please?" she asked, half begging. Cole was sure she was pouting and batting her eyelashes at Piper.
- "Fine! And will you stop that? You're worse than the kids." Cole laughed then, knowing he'd been right about the face his wife had given her sister.
- "Honey? I'll see you soon?" Phoebe asked, the smile on her face evident in the sound of her voice.
- "
I'm leaving now. I'll see you in a few. Love you," he said as he got out of his chair, and grabbed his jacket on the way out the door.
- "Love you, too," she replied, then hung up the phone. Cole caught a street car just down the street from work and rode it as close as it would take him to the restaurant. As he came to the front door, he looked around to see if Phoebe was on her way, but couldn't see Piper's Jeep through the thick midday traffic. So he headed inside, wondering if she may have arrived before him. There was no sign of her as he entered, but he was surprised to see Julian sitting at a table with an elderly woman, looking like they were about to leave. So he thought he'd go over and say hi.
- "Julian, nice to see you away from your computer," he joked as he came up to them.
- "Cole! Hey, what brings you here?" Julian asked his friend, a smile spreading across his face.
- "Lunch with the wife. You?" his friend replied.
- "Lunch with Grandma," he said, then motioning between the two, he introduced them. "Grandma, this is Cole Halliwell. Cole this is my grandmother, Martha."
- "Ah, so this is the lovely lady behind this wonderful little place? It's an honor to meet you," Cole said, taking her hand and kissing it gently.
- "Julian, your friend is quite the charmer," she said, enchanted. Julian closed his eyes tight for a minute, feeling his face turn red.
- "Oh, I'm not charmed, but my wife is," Cole said quietly, leaning in so no one else would hear, and winked at her.
- "A Charmed One? Really?" Martha asked, suddenly looking around. "Where is she? I'd love to meet her!" Cole smiled at the old woman's enthusiasm.
- "She's on her way. She should be here in a few minutes," he replied.
- "Well, we can stay a few more minutes, can't we, Julian?" she asked, turning to her grandson. Julian didn't know how to reply to this sudden unexpected request. His grandmother had just kept surprising and shocking him all throughout lunch, and he was still reserved about bringing her to meet Belthazor.
- "Of course you can. Phoebe will be here soon, anyway," Cole answered, seeing his friend's discomfort. He took a seat and joined them, turning his attention to Martha. "So, tell me Martha, what got you interested in the restaurant business?" Julian turned to Cole in amazement. He'd managed to get his grandmother's full attention and kept her talking about her past until Phoebe showed up about eight minutes later.
- "Oh, I'm so sorry I'm late! The traffic is horrible," she said as she came up to the table. "Julian? Hi. I didn't know you were joining us," she said when she noticed him.
- "I'm not, my grandmother and I were about to leave, actually," he said, motioning to Martha.
- "Oh, hello. I'm Phoebe," the Charmed One introduced herself.
- "This is Martha Marsh, the former owner of this place," Cole said introducing Martha, as she and Phoebe shook hands.
- "Really? Well, then, it's my pleasure," she beamed.
- "Oh, the pleasure is all mine. It's not every day I get to meet a Charmed One," Julian's grandmother replied. Phoebe blushed at this, a large smile spreading across her face.
- "Okay, Grandma, we have to go," Julian said, breaking into the conversation.
- "But she just got here," Martha complained, wanting to talk with Phoebe some more.
- "I know, and I'm sorry, but we have to go. And I'm sure they are both very busy and only have a short time for lunch. We can make a dinner date for another time, I promise," Julian said, getting up. Martha's face fell.
- "It would be a pleasure to have the chance to talk with you more. We'll get in touch with you through Julian and set something up," Phoebe offered, and watched as the old woman's features brightened.
- "Alright, that would be wonderful," she said, then got up herself, with Cole quickly coming behind her and pulling her chair out for her. Then she turned to Julian. "Now, that that's settled, let's go see your friend, B." Cole and Phoebe looked at each other, eyes wide with surprise at this.
- "See you guys," Julian called to them as he and his granny left.
- "Later," Cole replied for the both of them, then they both started laughing.
- "What a sweet woman," Phoebe said as Cole pulled out a seat for her at their usual table.
- "Yeah, she is," he answered, as he sat down himself to a wonderful lunch with his wife.

Well, I guess it's obvious in that first scene that I've been watching the first season of Charmed... lol And for the lunch, I didn't know if Martha had met Cole yet, though I assumed it since she wanted to meet the Charmed Ones, I guessed she hadn't met their husbands either...

I love it, it was pretty cute... Ok, as I said I don't have too much time today so this will be short, but at least something for you to work with...

Chris just entered the hallway when the front door was opened and his mother stepped inside. He wanted to greet her, but she stopped him with a look that sent daggers.
The Elder-witch rose his eyebrows at this, wondering what's going on. But then he realised that Christopher, who Piper held in her arms, was sleeping peacefully, with his head against his mother's shoulder. And from the look on Piper's face it hadn't been too easy to get him to sleep.
So when his mom stood in front of him he mouthed: 'If you want I can orb you to the nursery.'
At this Piper smiled and then nodded. So Christopher put his hand on her shoulder and orbed with the two of them right in front of Christopher's bed.
Piper mouthed a 'thank you' and then put the little boy down, careful to not wake him. Chris watched them smiling, before leaving the room. Soon Piper followed and together they went down the stairs again.
"How was your trip with Phoebe?" Chris asked.
Piper just waved the question away, saying: "Don't ask."
That was when they heard one of the bathroom doors open, followed by loud giggling sounds. Piper winced but Chris quickly orbed away and moments later reappeared in the hallway at the stairs, with Kyle and Wyatt in toe.
"What was that about?" the man asked confused and a little pale.
Chris just shrugged: "Sorry... Christopher just went down for a nap and I didn't want you to wake him..."
"Good reflexes, Chris," Piper said, visibly thankful. Then she turned to Kyle: "I'm sorry, but Phoebe kept him overly excited all day and it was a pain to get him to sleep."
Kyle shrugged it off, through he still looked pale: "It's ok... Just for a second I thought there was a demon..."
"No demon..." Wyatt said giggling.
Piper patted the man's arm: "I'm truly sorry..." But by then Kyle was smiling again.
The Charmed one then noticed two things were wrong. "Where is Paige, and why is my son dressed in his PJ at this time of the day?" she asked.
"Paige was called by the Elders," Kyle explained.
"Really?" Chris asked, obviously not knowing the reason for that.
Wyatt meanwhile said: "I did bath... Was dirty."
Kyle nodded at this, and then blushed when he turned to Piper: "I'm sorry. I couldn't find anything else for him to wear at that moment..."
Piper smiled at this and patted his arm again. Then turning to Chris she noticed that he, too, looked rather dirty. "What did you two do?" she asked pointed at an huge dirty spot on his shirt...
"Well... I just wanted to shower... you know we..." the Elder-witch started.
But Wyatt interrupted them as he grabbed his mom's hand. "We'll show you..." And with this he dragged to the garden...

Ok... I just wrote that down... without re-reading it... I might change it a bit later when I'm home, or tomorrow for that matter or add some more details. But at least you have the direction. *hugs*

Edit: Now it's better, through not perfect... Oh and it would be great if you could finish that scene with Piper actually seeing the new garden with the flowers , herbs and vegetables... Because I know you can picture her reaction much better than I ever could...

- Piper let Wyatt lead her downstairs, through the dinning room, into the kitchen, and out the back door. As soon as they were outside, he let go of her hand and ran in front of the newly planted garden and pointed at it, an enormous smile on his little face.
- "Look Mommy! Look what me and Chris did!" he said all but jumping up and down in excitement.
- "Wow! A garden! It's beautiful!" she said with enthusiasm, as she approached her little boy. "You did this?" Wyatt nodded his head, the big smile never leaving his face. "Wow! I'm so proud of you!" she said, then pulled him into a hug. Chris and Kyle had followed them outside, and were now enjoying Piper's reaction. Especially Chris, since he'd put in a lot of work in the garden and was glad she liked it so much.
- Piper finally let go of Wyatt, feeling much better now after the long morning she had. Pride for her sons shone through in her smile as she gazed at the garden, already starting to imagine the harvest.
- "You really like it?" Chris asked after a moment, coming to stand beside her.
- "Yes, Chris. I love it. Thank you," she said, wrapping an arm around his waist and reaching up on tiptoe to kiss him on the cheek. Wyatt started to move into the garden when Kyle picked him up.
- "Whoa, where do you think you're going?" he asked the little boy. Wyatt giggled in his arms. "You trying to get dirty again?" he added while tickling him. Piper and Chris joined in the laughing, and Chris also joined in the tickling.

Bad Jenny! Double posting and quoting myself! But considering it's been a couple of weeks since this was updated, and my last update was rather short... I think I can get away with in... And besides, Chrissy gets away with it quite often... lol

Well, I hope you like my update! And it's longer this time...

- Paige orbed back to her room, feeling annoyed, frustrated, and uncertain. Annoyed that Odin had given her a charge on top of everything else she had to do. Frustrated because she didn't know if she'd have the time to do everything she had to do. And uncertain about how to tell Kyle that her new charge worked at the station with him. But apparently she didn't have to worry about telling Kyle just now, since he was nowhere to be seen.
- She looked around her empty bedroom, seeing all of Kyle's things put away, boxes in a neat pile by the door, waiting to be filled back up at his apartment. But no Kyle. She listened for a moment, and found the house to be strangely quiet. So she poked her head out into the hallway, and looked around. Nothing. She listened some more, but still she couldn't hear any signs of life. Leaving her room, she made her way down the hall and checked all the rooms she passed by. No one. At least until she came to the nursery. There she found Christopher sleeping soundly. Which told her that at least one person was home. So she continued her search for signs of life downstairs.
- Paige had just reached the bottom of the stairs when she heard sounds coming from the direction of the kitchen. It didn't take her long to walk the distance there, where she found Piper, Chris, Wyatt and Kyle coming in from the garden.
- "Paige, you're back," Kyle said, the smile on his face growing bigger at the sight of her.
- "Back? From where?" Piper asked as she took Wyatt from Kyle, who was still holding him.
- "I was jingled," Paige replied, annoyed. Piper c*cked an eyebrow and exchanged a look with Chris.
- "What did they want?" Chris asked while getting a drink. Kyle had gone over to stand beside her as soon as Piper had Wyatt.
- "Odin is giving me a charge," she complained as she sat on a stool.
- "Why is Odin giving you a charge?" Kyle asked confused.
- "That's the million-dollar question, isn't it? And I don't know the answer," she said shaking her head.
- "Did Odin at least tell you who your charge was? Or was he as cryptic as the rest of the Elders?" Piper asked, Wyatt in one arm, a loaf of bread in the other. A guilty expression formed on Paige's face, as Piper placed the bread on a cutting board.
- "Paige?" Kyle asked, wondering why she looked so guilty.
- "Yeah, Odin told me who my charge was..." she broke off, feeling uncomfortable. Chris looked at her, trying to figure out what was bothering her.
- "Well? Who is it?" he asked, taking his little brother from his mother so she could make sandwiches for lunch.
- "It's a parole officer... Named Henry Mitchell," she said, not able to look Kyle in the eye.
- "Henry? Are you sure?" Kyle asked, shocked.
- "Yes," she replied simply.
- "You know him, Kyle?" Pipe asked, placing a leaf of lettuce each on five slices of bread.
- "Yeah, I do. We sometimes work together. But I've never seen anything weird happen around him to make me think he needs a Whitelighter," he answered, feeling dumbfounded.
- "That's because he's not magical. At least, not yet," Paige said, still not able to really look at Kyle.
- "He's a future Whitelighter?" Chris asked, knowing that was the only other possible explanation. If he wasn't a witch, than he had to be a future Whitelighter.
- "Yes." Kyle looked at Paige, not entirely sure what that meant.
- "If he's not even magical yet, than who could possibly be after him?" he asked, knowing there was still a lot he needed to learn about magic.
- "There are lots of evil beings who could be after him. But most likely it would be a Darklighter. They are the natural enemies of Whitelighters and half-Whitelighters alike," Piper explained, looking at Paige, Wyatt and Chris as she said that last.
- "Some Darklighters seek out future Whitelighters and try to kill them before they can do the good that will give them their wings. Others will try to coerce paragons of good, future Whitelighters who have already won their wings, to commit suicide. And so on and so forth, etcetera, etcetera," Chris added. Piper looked at him, a big smile on her face. A suspicious look came over him. "What?" he asked his mother.
- "You sounded just like Leo," she said proudly. "Like a true Whitelighter." Chris blushed a little at hearing this. Paige let out a little laugh.
- "Then how come I'm the one with the charge?" Paige complained, still laughing a bit.
- "I have three charges. And let me tell you, they're a pain in the butt!" he said staring straight at his aunt. She stuck her tongue out at him, causing Wyatt to laugh.
- "Actually, we're still technically Leo's charges," Piper said, trying to out smart-*ss Chris. It didn't work.
- "No, actually, Elders don't have charges. And since Dad is an Elder, and I'm the senior Whitelighter in this house..."
- "Hey!" Paige protested.
- "...Then I'm your Whitelighter," he said without missing a beat, even with Paige's protest.
- "I thought you were part Elder?" Kyle said, causing Chris to lose his smug grin, and in turn causing smug grins to appear on Piper and Paige's faces.
- "With full Elder powers," Paige added. This time it was Chris's turn to stick his tongue out at her.
- "So, which one would be after Henry?" Kyle asked after a moment, getting them back on the subject at hand.
- "I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see," Paige said sadly. Piper handed a plate with a sandwich to everyone then, and they all sat at the table and ate quietly, thinking over what had just been said.

- "I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see," Paige said sadly. Piper handed a plate with a sandwich to everyone then, and they all sat at the table and ate quietly, thinking over what had just been said.

But the silence didn't last long. Just moments later orb lights filled the air and Leo appeared. When he saw who was there at the table he looked surprised.
"Paige?" he asked. "What are you doing here? Didn't Odin reach you?"
"He did..." Paige replied after swallowing a bite of her sandwich.
"So you knew she'd get a charge?" Chris now asked.
"Leo nodded, looking at his son: "Odin told me moments ago... I tried to talk him out of it, but he was stubborn." Then he turned to Paige again. "Why aren't you with him then?"
"Well... I thought I ceck on him later, I..." she mumbled with her mouth full, before swallowing again.
"Later?" Leo asked, his voice filled with disbelieve. "He's your charge for a reason and from what Odin said to me I got the feeling this is an urgent matter... I mean, I'd at least quickly check on him to see what's going on."
The witchlighter sighed, dropped her sandwhich to the plate and rose. "Ok, ok... I'll check on him... see you." And with those words she orbed away.
"You think he's in danger?" Kyle then asked.
The Elder just shrugged as he sat down by his wife: "I don't know..."
A few moments passedn and then, sooner than anyone had expected, orb lights filled the kitchen again and paige returned.
Seeing all the questioning looks she quickly explained, while sitting down and grabbing her sandwhich again: "I went to him, but he was at a crime scene. And I through we had already enough encounters with the police lately so better not get involved in this... I'll try again to get to him later, with less flashing lights..." Everyone nodded, only Leo didn't seem convinced.
"What?" Piper asked, knowing that expression of her husband very well.
Her husband frowned: "Well... I know it's important to be careful when it comes to the police, especially with our past, but..."
"But?" Paige and Kyle asked at the same time.
"As I said, Odin let it sound as if this was an urgent matter. What if who ever is after him is right there at the crime scene now?"
"Or maybe he's the reason for it?" Chris mumbled with his mouth full, earning an angry look from his mother which made him wince.
Paige sighed at this and let her sandwich drop to the plate the second time within a couple of minutes. "So much for lunch..." she muttered.
"But how is she supposed to get near him without gaining to much attention?" Piper asked worried about the family's safety.
Everyone kept silent at this until Paige started to grin and then asked: "is it allowed to get some help for the first contact?"
"What do you mean?" Leo asked.
But Chris already said: "Sure... why not." This gained him an annoyed look from his father.
Paige through was already jumping up. "Then I have an idea," she said and took Kyle's hand. "You'll help me..."
"Me?" the young man gave back a little startled. But Paige just nodded and orbed them both away.
Leo shook his head at this, while Chris and also Wyatt chuckled lightly. Piper through seemed to be deep in thoughts as she muttered: "I hope she knows what she's doing..."
"I'm sure she does," Leo replied and his wife flashed him a smile. Then she stood up and took Wyatt to the sunroom to spend some time with him.
Leo was about to follow her, but Chris held him back. "Dad? Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure," he replied and sat down again.
"How..." Chris wasn't sure how to ask this, but he needed to know, "how does someone become a whitelighter? I mean... I know they have to do something good and all, but... who decides which action is good enough to make someone a whitelighter or not?"
Leo rose an eyebrow, this was really a good question. "I'm not really sure to be honest," he replied. Usually we don't know who will be a whitelighter until he or she dies. Just in cases where a danger is spotted some special Elders, who are called Keepers, will inform us so that another whitelighter can be send to that person for protection. But I don't know for sure from where they get the information..." he shrugged then added: "Maybe from the Oracle..."
Chris nodded: "Yeah maybe..." Then he asked: "Is Odin a Keeper?"
"No..." Leo shook his head. "But Jeremiah is one. Why do you ask?"
Chris put an innocent face on and shrugged: "Oh no special reason, I was just curious."
Leo looked at him for a moment. "Yeah, sure," he said then, not believing a word of what his son had said, before he finally got up to join Piper and Wyatt in the sunroom.
Chris stayed in the kitchen for a bit longer. 'Jeremiah,' he though. 'Not the best person to get some information from...' Hopefully he'd have enough time to uncover this secret and find a way to manipulate the system. He suddenly had to smile when he thought back to his trip to the future. His grandfather had told him that all this mess was his fault, he had told him that Chris was the reason he was a whitelighter then. Not that this was a surprise since Chris had already more or less formed that plan in his mind. But knowing that he could make this work, he didn't want to risk to fail. And through he knew that he had a couple of more years to finish this task, it could never hurt to be prepared.

Edit: if you don't mind there is something I'd like to add between my last update and the following one written by you. Here's what I'd like to add...

"Where the * is my second sock?" Tom exclaimed impatient. he was searching through the room since a couple of minutes now, trying to get dressed again.
Veronica lay on the bed, wrapped in the blanket, and chuckled lightly. "I don't know honey... I was too busy with kissing your sweet lips, when we came in here..."
"D*mn it! that's not funny... I have a class in a couple of minutes," Tom exclaimed running out of the room, to see if the sock was somewhere on the stairs. But there was nothing there. Grumbling he returned to Veronica's room to find her sitting in bed now laughing.
"That's really not funny, ok? I'm a teacher, teachers can't be late..." he said. And as she kept on laughing he added: "I#ll pay that back to you when you start teaching as well next term..."
Veronica was still laughing heartily as she gestured for him to come over to her. With a seep sigh Tom gave up and sat down by her side.
His girlfriend was still laughing through not that much anymore. "Oh honey... you are so cute," she said. "Give me that other sock of yours."
He sighed again and handed it over to her. Veronica took it and then lend over to her nightstand. There she picked up a feather and some kind of colored salt. She pured some of the salt on the sock in her hand, and then used the feather to brush over it. There was a little 'puff' heard and some smoke came from her hand, but then there were not one but two identical socks in her hand.
"You know that's personal gain, don't you?" Tom asked with a smile when he took the socks from her to pull them on.
Veronica just shook her head, smiling: "No it's not... it was for saving your reputation as teacher, and had nothing to do with my person... not at all."
"You are unbelievable," he muttered against her lips as he gave her a kiss.
Veronica smiled when they parted. "I know," she said, "that's why you love me so much..."
Tom smiled at her. "See you later," he muttered before shimmering to his class.
Veronica kept her eyes a bit longer on the spot where her boyfriend just stood. then she lay back on the bed again and closed her eyes. "Just a few minutes more," she muttered before she drifted back to sleep.

Oh and by the way... we're at page 16!

I love that scene! It's very cute!!! Oh, and I don't mind at all!

Okay, now for my update...

- Halfway across town from the last crime scene, Darryl pulled up outside another apartment building, not quite sure he wanted to go in. As he got out of his car, a small flash of light caught his eye. And when he turned to look down the alley where the light source came from, he thought the light looked suspiciously like orbs. As if someone was orbing away. He shook his head, wondering if he was seeing things, or if maybe Leo, Chris or Paige had just been here. That made him even less compelled to go inside, since, if one of them had been here, than he was certain to find something supernatural.
- Darryl had had every intention of going straight to the Halliwells after leaving the last crime scene, but he'd gotten the call about this one just as he'd gotten into his car. From the report, it seemed like the two crimes were related. Locked tight apartments, single occupant found stabbed, never having been moved. So he'd come here, hoping to find something that would help the sisters find the demonic killer. But he still didn't like having to go inside. Despite his years of seeing these freaky cases, he still hadn't truly gotten used to seeing the damage demons could do. Sometimes he just wished he could pick up his family and move somewhere where he'd never have to deal with demons again. But he knew that could never happen. Demons were everywhere. And here, at least, he had the Charmed Ones for protection.
- He walked over to the ranking officer and was directed inside to the ground floor apartment where the victim was found. The Crime Scene Unit was already there, combing through the room, looking for evidence they would never find. Darryl passed by a few officers in the hall who were getting statements from neighbors, before entering the apartment. Once inside, he made his way to the bedroom where the body was. As he passed the threshold, he found himself more surprised to see who was there than the state of the body. A quick glace at the body told him this was definitely related to the last crime. But the person standing near the body, he hadn't expected to see.
- "Henry?" he asked as he came up to the parole officer. "What are you doing here?"
- "Lieutenant Morris. This is, or was, Bradley Samson. He was one of my parolees," Henry Mitchell said as he turned to Darryl. "He's the third one I lost today."
- "Third?" Darryl asked perplexed, looking between Henry and the body.
- "Yeah, I found Jeffrey Richards this morning in an alley, a large burn on his chest. And while I was on my way here, I heard about Taylor Branson," he said, feeling disheartened.
- "Taylor Branson was your parolee?" Darryl asked, wondering if it was a mere coincidence, or if it was something more substantial. His mind drifted off to the possible orbs he saw earlier, for a second.
- "Yeah, he was. And he was doing so well. Actually, they all were. They were clean for months, getting their lives back on track. I don't know what could have happened." The parole officer sounded completely at a loss as to how to explain losing three parolees in one morning. And all three under strange circumstances.
- "Well that's what we are here to find out," Darryl said, knowing he really did have to go to the Halliwells now.

- Paige orbed herself and Kyle to the same alley she had come to minutes ago when she'd found all the cops around. Kyle wobbled a bit, still not completely used to orbing.
- "Paige! I wasn't done even done my sandwich!" he said, slightly annoyed.
- "Neither was I, but you heard Leo. This is urgent," she said, emphasizing the last word in a sarcastic manner.
- "But why did you drag me here?"
- "Because I need you to introduce us. Make it easier for me," she said turning to face him, batting her eyelashes, and smiling sweetly at him. He didn't buy it.
- "And how am I supposed to do that? Say something like ‘Henry, this is my girlfriend, Paige. She is a witch and thinks a demon is after you, and is here to protect you,'" Kyle said sarcastically, having crossed his arms over his chest.
- "No. You don't mention the witch part. Or the demon part for that matter," she said, moving to the mouth of the alley and looking around to see if she could spot Henry among the crowd.
- "Then how am I supposed to do it? I'm still rather new to this, you know," he said, uncrossing his arms, and coming to stand next to her.
- "I don't know. I've never done this before either," Paige said, still looking for Henry, but couldn't see him anywhere.
- "I thought you did this all the time? You know, with innocents," he said, looking at her. She turned to look at him.
- "Not exactly like this. Our innocents are usually under attack when we get to them," she said, a sheepish look on her face.
- "Well let's hope Henry isn't under attack when we get to him," Kyle said as he turned his gaze back out of the alley.
- "Well, it would be easier to keep that from happening if we could find him," Paige said, getting annoyed that she couldn't see Henry anywhere.
- "His car is still here. So he's probably inside," he said, still looking around. Paige grabbed his arm and started to pull him out of the alley.
- "Well then, let's go find him," she said, grinning.
- They entered the build with no problems, but Kyle had to show his badge to get them unto the crime scene. He maneuvered them toward the bedroom when they hadn't seen Henry in the rest of the apartment. As they reached the bedroom door, an officer stopped them, and wouldn't let Paige in.
- "Look, she's with me," Kyle said again, trying to get her inside.
- "This is no place for civilians," the big police officer said. "We can't have her contaminate the crime scene."
- "Come on! She's not going to contaminate anything!" Kyle said, getting annoyed.
- "What's going on out here?" a familiar voice said from inside the bedroom.
- "Lieutenant, Officer Turner here is trying to get his girlfriend into the crime scene," the officer said, annoyed. Darryl moved into view, and though part of him was surprised to see Paige, part of him also wasn't.
- "I asked him to bring her here. She's . . . an expert in knife wounds," the lieutenant said, covering for Paige and Kyle. The officer wasn't so sure about it, but he wasn't about to argue with a superior officer. So he just moved out of the way and let them in.
- "Thanks Darryl," Paige whispered to him.
- "What are you doing here, Paige? Did Phoebe have a premonition about the murders?" Darryl whispered back. That stopped Paige in her tracks.
- "Murders? No, I'm here to see Henry Mitchell," she said, motioning to him with her chin. Henry was standing next to the bed while the medical examiner was getting ready to move the body. Darryl moved Paige and Kyle to a corner of the room so they could talk.
- "Why are you looking for Henry? Is this about his other parolees?" Darryl asked, confused.
- "No. Why? What happened to his parolees?" Kyle asked, getting confused himself.
- "Three of Henry's parolees died this morning under unusual circumstances. This is the third," Darryl said, turning to look at the victim.
- "Could this be related somehow?" Kyle asked Paige, who was as confused as everyone else.
- "I don't know. I just came here because Henry is my charge," she said, not sure what to think.
- "He's your charge?" Darryl asked, surprised.
- "Yes. Apparently, he's a future Whitelighter, and he's in danger," she explained. "So I'm here to watch over him."
- "I knew there was something freaky about these murders," Darryl said, looking back at the bed, as the M.E. moved the body unto a stretcher.
- "Darryl, what are you talking about?" Paige asked, looking over at the body herself.
- "This is the second time this morning I've been called to a crime scene like this. And both times the victims were found locked in their apartments, no signs of forced entry, and stabbed to death. Their hair having turned shock white. And there is nothing to indicate suicide. I was actually going to go and see you and your sisters when I was done here," he explained in a low voice.
- "That's strange," Kyle said, watching as the M.E. wheeled the body passed them and out of the room.
- "Wait, I thought you said Henry lost three of his parolees?" Paige said after a moment.
- "I did," Henry said as he came up to them, looking suspiciously at Paige.
- "Henry Mitchell, this is Paige Matthews. She's a specialist," Darryl introduced them. Paige shook his hand.
- "I'm sorry to hear about your parolees," she said sincerely. He still looked at her a little suspiciously.
- "Thanks. So, a specialist in what?" he asked, looking at the three.
- "Ah . . . " they all said at once.
- "She's not one of those psychics you keep using, is she, Lieutenant?" he said a little skeptically.
- "Yes. Yes I am," Paige said, a little quietly, so no one else would hear. Henry shook his head at this.
- "Well, whatever works for you. I just hope you find who did this," he said, than turned to leave.
- "Wait!" Paige said, a little too loudly. A few of the other officers in the apartment turned to look at her.
- "What is it?" Henry asked, turning back to face her.
- "I... I'd like to talk to you about your parolees. Try to find out what the connection is between them. Other than you, of course," she said, then got an elbow jabbed in her side by Kyle.
- "Paige!" her boyfriend said through his teeth.
- "What are you getting at? You're not accusing me, are you?" Henry said astonished, moving in rather close to Paige.
- "What? No! I think you might be in danger."

Wow... your update is great as always... And I was finally able to update a little myself. I'm not to happy with it, but I hope you like it anyway...

Martha felt a little dizzy for a moment, after being shimmered. When they had left the restaurant, Julian had guided her into an alley. And when he was sure no one else was around he had brought his grandmother down to the underworld, right in front of their door.
"Are you ok?" the man asked worried, when he saw the older woman looking a little uncomfortable.
Martha nodded: "I'm alright, just not used to shimmering."
Julian nodded smiling. Then he turned to face the door and took a deep breath. He knew this would't be an easy meeting, but now there was no way back. So with a wave of his hand he unlocked the door with his magic and opened it then to let his grandmother in.
Martha stepped in and found herself in something that looked more like a lounge than a lair. There was sitting area with a table in the middle and some shelves with books around. And in the back there was a desk filled with papers. And there even was a TV... Also a couple of doors led to other rooms, and there was a small hallway leading somewhere deeper in the cave as well. "Wow," she muttered, "that's really impressing."
"B. are you here?" Julian said after closing the door and locking it again.
Moments later the red demon appeared through the hallway and stopped dead in his movements when he saw who was visiting them.
Also Martha froze in her movements, when she noticed the demon... a red-skinned demon, dressed in black shirt and pants, wearing a white apron and carrying a dish-towel in hand.
Julian had a hard time not to laugh at that scene. Then he stepped in the middle, between them, and said: "Granny, this is my friend B." Then, turning to the Source, he added with a nod to the woman: "That's my grandmother, Martha."
Belthazor's eyes widened. Then he hastily cleaned his hands with the towel and threw it and the apron on a chair by his side, before stepping forward and taking the woman's hand to place a light kiss on it. "It's a pleasure to meet you," he said.
The woman looked at the demon with a mixture of confusion and amusement then, and replied: "The pleasure is mine."
Belthazor nodded and then quickly excused them for a moment before dragging Julian out of the room, leaving the smiling woman behind.
As soon as they were out of hearing-range the Source turned to his friend with an angry look on his face, asking: "Julian what are you thinking? Why did you bring her here?"
Julian flinched a little, knowing his friend had all rights to be angry. They had agreed to bring no one to their home without permission of the other. But this was his grandma, the only family he had left after his parents and siblings had kicked him out, literally. He'd do anything for her. "I'm sorry," he said therefore. "But you know how much she means to me. And when she asked to com here and see where I live and to meet you... I couldn't deny her that."
"I know," the demon replied more calmer now, "but you are going to ruin my reputation. I'm the Source of all Evil, after all."
Now Julian laughed: "Yeah, a fine Source you are, kissing the hand of an old woman, a witch."
"All your fault!" B. gave back, making Julian laugh even more.
But then he turned serious: "No, honestly, why did you do that?"
The red demon shrugged, his lower lip slightly pushed forward. Was he pouting? Then he said: "I don't know, I was acting on instinct. After all I know how much she means to you..."
Julian nodded, a smile on his face: "Yeah... But those instincts you were acting on, weren't those of a demon..."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Belthazor now shot back his eyes sparkling with anger.
Julian shrugged: "Nothing... except that your soul is not really demonic anymore... So you should try to not act on your instincts when you go to one of your meetings..." And with this his winked at his friend, before going back to the other room where his grandmother was still waiting.
Belthazor followed him wit his eyes, before ever so slowly a smiled formed on his lips... Then he shook his head and followed his friend...
